Jack was inspired to train as a Podiatrist after he himself was a patient at Northernhay Clinic when he was 18. He had struggled with ongoing shin pain throughout his teens and his sport & fitness was suffering as a result. After seeing Jonathan and being prescribed Custom Foot Orthoses (that he still wears to this day) Jack was able to start enjoying his fitness again, without shin pain. Jack understands Podiatry treatments from a patient perspective and is passionate about our MSK Podiatry interventions as they have been completely life changing for him.

Jack loves trail running, climbing, surfing, swimming & resistance training. He and his wife Claire (also a Podiatrist) live in Exeter and love spending time together Hiking on the Devon Moors & Coastpaths.

I was suffering with very painful plantar fasciitis in my left heel. It would be very painful having been on my feet all day. I didn’t think it would ever get better.
I saw Jack in October 2024, he did a full examination of my feet and gait analysis, sorted me with tailor maid orthotics and said with some confidence that these would fix the problem. I’d suffered for so long honestly, I was skeptical. I thought, if it reduces the pain to a twinge, I’d be happy with that. A year and a 1/2 later and my foot doesn’t hurt at all and I’m now able to comfortably run 5k!!
I’m so grateful to Jack and so happy that I chose the Northernhay clinic. They clearly know their stuff so I’d recommend anyone with foot pain to go to them. Thank you!!

I felt my foot problem was quite minor and that perhaps I’d be wasting their time but Jack took so much time and care over explaining what the cause was and suggesting different ways to deal with it. I left feeling so much more positive. I would recommend this clinic wholeheartedly

My father has moderate knee OA with pain and stiffness, the appointment was relaxed and professional and follow up has been exceptional and now fully broken in the orthotics have improved my fathers gate immensely. Worth every penny!

A professional, thorough specialist assessment and review of my foot difficulties caused by high arches. Jack was personable, attentive and knowledgeable as a chiropodist and quickly identified the cause of my foot pain problems and recommended a number of targeted solutions including self help physiotherapy exercises, foot ware recommendations and arch supports with a follow up appointment by which time my foot difficulties were already improving. I was referred to Jack at Northernhay Clinic by my chiropractor back in October. I was really suffering with debilitating ankle pain and was seriously considering having to give up my smallholding and my photographic career. My consultation with Jack was thorough, non invasive and he was very kind and well informed.I was provided with two sets of orthotics…one for my new trainers recommended by Jack and one for my wellies! I wore them as instructed and felt realigned and pain free immediately. I have worn my orthotics daily…with a bit barefoot around the house.
It is now the middle of April and I have continued to consistently enjoy pain free full mobility since wearing my orthotics.
I am so grateful to Jack and cannot recommend the service provided by Northernhay Clinic highly enough.

I cannot thank Jack, Jonathan, and the team at Northernhay enough. After a lifetime of joint issues and childhood health challenges that left me in and out of Stoke Mandeville, I thought my competitive sporting days were over. Thanks to the specialist orthotics and MSK expertise at this clinic, I have gone from chronic injury to being selected for the England Over 35’s hockey squad. An excellent team and product. Jack produced a much improved product for me that is comfortable, durable, washable, and a slim style which easily fits into many more shoe types. I am very thankful as they eliminate many physical issues that were causing discomfort and problems. Thank you Jack!
