Prescription Foot Orthotics

Prescription orthotics are custom made medical device. The prescription and manufacture of these devices is a highly complex and specialist field. Prescription follows a biomechanical examination of each patient. Prescription orthotics are made on special casts of the feet. The cast is taken with the foot in its optimum alignment for best function when walking and running. Jonathan Palmer uses various casting methods according to the functional results required for each individual patient. His skill has developed since the early 1990's and following many thousands of casting sessions with different foot types.
Prescription orthotics when worn in shoe allow the joints of the feet and ankles to move in a way that optimises function and stability of the whole foot, limb, pelvis and spine.
