When to Renew Your Orthotics

Nothing Lasts Forever.......
Your orthotics are precious and they are personal. They will not last forever.
To ensure that you continue to enjoy the benefits of using your orthotics they should be renewed on average every 3 years. Some users will need to renew more regularly and we will advise on an individual basis.
Further Information
Every day your orthotics will receive huge amounts of cumulative stress. They are built to withstand this but the materials do wear with time.
A TIP - try and bend your orthotics when they are new - check them every two months - if the have become alot more flexible and look fatigued - they probably are and need renewing, fatigue is unlikely in the first year of wear. Simple!
At Northernhay Clinic we currently operate a computerised reminder system for patients. At follow up we will check your feet, take new casts and ensure that your new orthotics are 'current' to you present foot mechanics.
Children are growing and will out grow their orthotics more frequently. Most orthotic laboratories offer discounted renewal schemes up to age 13. We will advise on discounted renewal schemes available at the consultation. We will also advise the simple terms & conditions that apply.
