How Do You Cast My Feet

The casting technique varies from patient to patient but at Northernhay Clinic you are guaranteed a quality casting technique which will allow the production of accurate orthotic devices.

Patients are generally laid on the couch in a relaxed position.
Warm plaster splints are applied one foot at a time.
The feet is manipulated into the idea positions (sub-talar neutral most usually).
Various corrections may be made according to your individual orthotic needs.
We have over a decade experience and it is safe to say that we take the casting process as being of PARAMOUNT importance in the production of a safe, comfortable and tolerable set of orthotics.
Splints are removed and you will be provided with a warm soapy foot bath to clean your feet
